Head types

• PRO - the only head type there is for pronouns

PRO-heads are case marked: PRO-N, PRO-A, PRO-D, PRO-G.

These head types are not only used for personal pronouns, but possessive pronouns and reflexive pronouns (acc. sig, dat. sér, gen. sín) as well.

Sometimes personal pronouns and demonstrative determiners are homophonous in Icelandic. In cases of unresolvable ambiguity, the default tag is PRO (click on PRO for an example).

Possessive pronouns

Possessive pronouns project NP-POS, regardless of their case (whereas only genitive nouns project NP-POS).
